Nahuel Di Pierro bass Claudio

Buenos Aires native Nahuel Di Pierro studied at Artistic Institute of the Teatro Colón. He is a former member of the Paris Opera Studio and the ‘Young Singer Project’ from the Salzburg Festival. His impressive operatic repertoire ranges from baroque music to romantic belcanto. An accomplished Mozartian, he has performed roles such as Masetto, Leporello Don Giovanni, Sarastro Die Zauberflöte, Achior La Betulia Liberata, La Voce Idomeneo, Figaro Le Nozze di Figaro, Guglielmo Cosí fan tutte and Osmin Die Entführung aus dem Serail in some of the world most prestigious opera houses such as Paris Opera, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Salzburg, Zürich Opernhaus, Aix-en-Provence, Edinburgh Festival, Buenos Aires, London, Valencia, Nancy, Luxemburg, Tel-Aviv, Dessau and Santiago.

Ann Hallenberg mezzo-soprano Agrippina

Ann Hallenberg has established herself as one of the world's leading mezzo-sopranos. She regularly appears in opera houses and festivals such as Teatro alla Scala Milan, Teatro La Fenice Venice, Teatro Real Madrid, Theater an der Wien, Opernhaus Zürich, Opéra National Paris, Théâtre de La Monnaie Brussels, Netherlands Opera Amsterdam, Bayerische Staatsoper München, Staatsoper Berlin and the Salzburg Festival.
Her operatic repertoire includes a large number of roles by Rossini, Mozart, Gluck, Massenet, Handel, Vivaldi and Monteverdi. Equally at home on the concert platform she frequently appears in concert halls and festivals throughout Europe and North America. She has built an unusually vast concert repertoire that spans music from the early 17th Century works up to contemporary music.
Ann Hallenberg has worked with conductors such as Fabio Biondi, Ivor Bolton, William Christie, Teodor Currentzis, Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Emmanuelle Haïm, Daniel Harding, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Paavo Järvi, Louis Langrée, Andrea Marcon, Cornelius Meister, Marc Minkowski, Riccardo Muti, Kent Nagano, Sir Roger Norrington, Sir Antonio Pappano, Evelino Pidò, Christophe Rousset and Alberto Zedda. She has recorded more than 40 cd and dvd with music by Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Mozart, Haydn, Gluck, Rossini, Mendelssohn, Brahms and Bruckner, just to mention a few. Two of her solo albums has won the award for "Best Operatic Recital" at the International Opera Awards in London.

Bruno de Sá countertenor Nerone

While still a student in his native Brazil, young male soprano Bruno de Sá made his first professional appearance in 2013 as Der Knabe in Weill’s Der Jasager (Cultural Centre SESC Belenzinho, São Paulo). During the following season he performed in Joplin’s Treemonisha, and was soprano soloist in Bach’s St John and St Matthew Passions at the Teatro Amazonas in Manaus. 2015 saw his major role début, as Sesto in Mozart’s La clemenza di Tito at the Teatro São Pedro in São Paolo, and he further expanded his oratorio repertoire as soloist in Handel’s Messiah and Rossini’s Petite messe solennelle at the Teatro L’Occitane in Trancoso, Bahia.
2016 he was the first-prize winner at the 14th Maria Callas Competition in São Paulo. At the 20th Festival Amazonas de Ópera he was the Shepherd in Tannhäuser, and soloist in Triunfo da Voz, a concert celebrating the great castrato Farinelli: “Bruno de Sá drove the audience wild …” [L’Opera].
2018 Bruno de Sá made his début at the Teatro Municipal, São Paulo, as soloist in Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms, and John Adams’ opera El niño. During the season 2019/20, Bruno de Sá joined the young artist programme at Theater Basel where he sung Die Kleine Meerjungfrau in Jherek Bischoff’s Andersens Erzählungen under Thomas Wise (world première), and Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro conducted by Christian Curnyn. He also sung Sesto in Handel’s Giulio Cesare directed by Peter Konwitschny and under Michael Hofstetter (Oper Halle), as well as Isacio in Hasse’s Irene with Aapo Häkkainen and the Helsinki Baroque Orchestra (Musiikkitalo Helsinki and Theater an der Wien). The 2020/21 season he makes his debut at the Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival as Berardo in Carlo il Calvo by Porpora staged by Max Emanuel Cenčic and conducted by George Petrou. Bruno de Sá recently won an OPER! Award 2020 in the category “Best Newcomer of the Year”.

Kristina Hammarström mezzo-soprano Ottone

Kristina Hammarström frequently appears at opera houses and festivals such as Teatro alla Scala Milan, Staatsoper Wien, Theater and der Wien, Opéra National Paris, Théâtre de La Monnaie Brussels, Netherlands Opera Amsterdam, Staatsoper Berlin, Salzburg Festival, Festival d'Aix-en-Provence and Innsbrucker Festwochen.
She regularly works with conductors such as Herbert Blomstedt, William Christie, Jesús López Cobos, Emmanuelle Haim, Philippe Herreweghe, René Jacobs, Fabio Luisi, Marc Minkowski, John Nelson, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, George Petrou, Christophe Rousset and Jean-Christophe Spinosi.
Her operatic repertoire includes an number of roles in Baroque operas as well as roles in operas by Rossini, Berlioz, Massenet, R Strauss, Wagner, just to mention a few. She regularly appears in concert halls and festivals throughout Europe and Asia.
Kristina Hammarström has recorded numerous cds, including a much-praised solo-cd with arias by Vivaldi. Her many dvds include Bradamante in Handel’s Alcina from the Staatsoper Wien, Daniel in Handel’s Belshazzar from Festival d'Aix en Provence and Bradamante in Vivaldi’s Orlando furioso from Théâtre des Champs Elysées Paris.

Roberta Mameli soprano Poppea

Roberta Mameli is regularly invited to perform at the most important theatres and venues including Theater an der Wien, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Paris Cité de la Musique, Florence Opera, La Fenice, Liceu Barcelona, Teatro Regio Torino. She collaborates with conductors such as Jordi Savall, Daniele Callegari, Christopher Hogwood, Jeffrey Tate, Fabio Biondi, Claudio Abbado, Ottavio Dantone, Ton Koopmann, Leonardo García Alarcón, Jean-Christophe Spinosi, Marco Armiliato.
Roberta Mameli had great personal success singing the title role in L’incoronazione di Poppea by Monteverdi under Diego Fasolis at the Berlin Staatsoper. Still under Fasolis, she was Arminda in La Scala’s production of Mozart’s La finta giardiniera for the Shanghai Grand Theatre. She released several solo albums among which “Anime Amanti” (Alpha) awarded with the prestigious Diapason d’Or 2017. Recent projects include Mozart’s Clemenza di Tito (Vitellia) at the Angers Nantes Opera and a recital with the Bayerische Kammerphilharmonie for the Deutsches Mozartfest Augsburg and with Akamus for the Handel Festival in Halle.

Giacomo Nanni bass Pallante

Giacomo Nanni was born in in 1996 in Rome, where he graduated in 2020 from Conservatorio "S. Cecilia". Lucky enough to experience the stage during his training, he has had the chance to perform, both in Italy and abroad, operatic roles of contrasting musical styles, such as Shaunard in La Bohème by Puccini, Figaro in Il barbiere di Siviglia by Paisiello, Bibi in L’empio punito by Melani, Antinoo in Il ritorno di Ulisse in patria by Monteverdi, Saturno in La divisione del mondo by Legrenzi, Giove in Amore e Psiche by Fux, Menippo in Il giudizio di Paride by Panni, Prospero in La Fiera di Sinigaglia by Fischietti, Vittorio in I due timidi by Rota. Being also active in the concert field, he has performed as a soloist and in ensemble in numerous venues, among which the Wiener Konzerthaus’ “Resonanzen” festival in Vienna, “Aequinox” festival in Neuruppin, Bremen’s “Musikfest”, “Vesperali” festival in Lugano, “Urbino Musica Antica” festival, “Festival dei due Mondi” in Spoleto, “Festival International de Musique” in Algiers, “Musikè” festival in Rovigo, “Roma Festival Barocco” and “Internationale Konzerttage” in Zwettl.

Kacper Szelążek countertenor Narciso

Kacper Szelążek graduated 2016 at the Chopin Music University in Warsaw in the singing class of prof. Artur Stefanowicz. He debuted 2013 as Nerone/Coronation of Poppea, at the Collegium Nobilium in Warsaw followed 2015 at the Salle Franc Martin Auditorium in Geneva. 2016 he received the Carlo Maria Giulini Award at the Moniuszko International Vocal Competition in Warsaw. He has performed at the Théâtre des Champs Élysées, Theatre des Versailles, Amsterdam Opera, Opera Dijon, Teatro Ristori in Verona, Polish Royal Opera, National Opera House and Stanislawowski Royal Theatre in Warsaw, Boston Early Music Festival, Enescu Festival in Bucharest, Victoria Hall in Geneva, National Philharmonic in Warsaw, the Polish Radio Concert Halls in Warsaw and Katowice, Opera Nancy, and others.
His repertoire includes Nerone/Coronation of Poppea, Nerone/Narciso/Agrippina, Bertarido/Rodelinda, Ariodante, Gilade/Farnace, Eliogabaldo, Cesare/Tolomeo/Sesto/Giulio Cesare, Eunuco/La finta Pazza, Medoro/Orlando generoso. Prasildo/ Il Palazzo incantato, and others. He performed with ensembles Les Talens Lyriques, Capella Mediteranea, L’Arpeggiata, Royal Baroque Ensemble, under conductors such as Rousset, Allarcón, Esswood, O’Dette, Stubbs, Passerini, Pluhar, and others.

Mikael Horned baritone Lesbo

Barytonen Mikael Horned är uppvuxen i Linköping och tog sin examen från Operahögskolan i Stockholm våren 2020, och har sedan dess studerat för Leif Lundberg och Peter Mattei. Han har även en konstnärlig kandidatexamen i kammarmusik från Mälardalens högskola i Västerås.
Säsongen 2019 sjöng han rollen som Zaretskij i Tjajkovskijs Eugen Onegin på Kungliga Operan och Pluto i Telemanns Orpheus på Vadstena-Akademien. Under studierna porträtterade han också roller som Ford i Falstaff, Marcello i La bohème och Silvio i Pagliacci. Han är även hängiven konsert- och kyrkorepertoaren där man bland annat kunnat höra honom i verk som Förklädd Gud av L-E Larsson, Requiem av G. Fauré och Songs of Travel av R. Vaughan Williams såväl som kända verk av Bach och Mozart.
Mikael är mottagare av Drottningholmsteaterns vänners Operastipendium 2021, och har tidigare erhållit stipendier från bl a Anders Sandrews stiftelse, Frimurarlogen S:t Eriks jubelårsfond samt Östergötlands landstings kulturstipendium.

Francesco Corti dirigent | conductor

Francesco Corti w­­as born in 1984 in Arezzo, Italy, to a musical family. He studied organ in Perugia, then harpsichord in Geneva and in Amsterdam. He was awarded at the International “Johann Sebastian Bach” Competition in Leipzig (2006) and at the Bruges Harpsichord Competition (2007).
As a soloist, he has appeared in recitals and concerts all over Europe, in the USA and Canada, in Latin America, in Asia and in New Zealand. He has been invited by festivals such as Mozart Woche and the Salzburger Festpiele, BachFest Leipzig, MusikFest Bremen, Utrecht Early Music Festival, Festival Radio France Montpellier. He has performed in halls such as Salle Pleyel (Paris), Bozar (Bruxelles), Konzerthaus (Vienna), Tonhalle (Zürich), Mozarteum and Haus für Mozart (Salzburg) and Concertgebouw (Amsterdam). He is a member of Les Musiciens du Louvre (Minkowski), Zefiro (Bernardini), the Bach Collegium Japan (Suzuki), Les Talens Lyriques (Rousset), Harmonie Universelle (Deuter) and Le Concert des Nations (Savall).
Since 2015 he conducts regularly Les Musiciens du Louvre and since 2018 he is principal guest conductor of il Pomo d’Oro. Among other projects with this ensemble, he has conducted a European tour of Handel’s Orlando. He was invited to lead B’Rock, the Nederlandse Bachvereniging and Holland Baroque. His solo recordings include a CD of Louis Couperin Suites, the Partitas by J. S. Bach, Haydn Sonatas, the two piano quartets and the piano concerto K. 488 by Mozart.
He’s recording for Pentatone all of Bach’s keyboard Concertos with Pomo d’Oro. His latest album “Little Books” (Arcana) was awarded a Diapason d’Or. He has taught in masterclasses all over Europe, in Latin America and in Asia. Since September 2016, he is professor of harpsichord at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.

Staffan Valdemar Holm har regisserat teater och opera sedan 1980-talet, bland annat på Folkoperan, Kungliga operan och Det Kongelige Teater i Köpenhamn. Han har varit teaterchef på Dramaten, Malmö dramatiska teater och Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus.

Bente Lykke Møller är scenograf och kostymör och har arbetat med Staffan Valdemar Holm på ett stort antal produktioner för teater, opera och tv. Tillsammans grundade de Ny skandinavisk forsøksteater i Köpenhamn 1988.

Torben Lendorph ljusdesign

Torben Lendorph är verksam som ljusdesigner vid bl a Betty Nansen Teatret, Mammut teatret, Den Anden Opera, Gladsaxe teater, Husets teater, Mikado danseensemble, Malmö Musikteater, Dramaten, Stockholms Stadsteater, Kungliga Operan (bl a Tannhäuser och Nibelungens ring) och Det Kongelige Teater. Han har även ljussatt flera produktioner vid dansk television, fått Ebbe Langbergs hederspris och tre gånger vunnit årets Reumert.

Vivica Genaux mezzo-soprano Nerone 11, 13, 15 August, singing

Since her professional début as Isabella in Rossini’s L’italiana in Algeri, audiences and critics throughout the world have been thrilled by the agile voice and intelligent artistry of mezzo-soprano Vivica Genaux. Her acclaimed career has taken Vivica from her native Alaska to many of the world’s most prestigious theaters and concert venues, including New York’s Metropolitan Opera, London’s Barbican, Prague’s Rudolfinum, and the Wiener Staatsoper. In 2021, Vivica’s engagements include performances in Spain, France, Lithuania, Poland, and China. She débuts in the title rôle of Vivaldi’s pasticcio opera Argippo and presents the first performances of two new concert programs, Capriccio: temi e variazioni and The Court of Dresden. Amongst recent highlights of Vivica’s career are her Il divino Sassone concert at the Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival; the first performances of her solo show Vivica & Viardot and Gender Stories with countertenor Lawrence Zazzo; and her débuts in the title rôle of Hasse’s Irene and as Trasimede in Riccardo Broschi’s Merope. Vivica Genaux is a passionate advocate for the renewal of interest in the music of Hasse, and her efforts were recognized by Johann Adolf Hasse-Stiftung with the 2019 Hasse-Preis. Her dedication to sharing her expertise and love for the voice is manifested in her creation of V/vox Academy and in lauded teaching engagements.

Jens Rosén completed his dance training at the Royal Swedish Ballet School. Engagements took him from 1995 to 2001 to the Royal Swedish Ballet, where he was appointed Principal Soloist in 1999, from 2001 to 2002 to the Ballet de la Comunidad de Madrid under the direction of Victor Ullate and from 2002 to 2007 to the Compañía Nacional de Danza directed by Nacho Duato. In 2007 he returned to the Royal Swedish Ballet, with which he remained as principal soloist until 2019. Since 2007 he has also been a dancer and artistic director of Company Stockholm 59 ° North. His wide-ranging repertoire includes, among others. Alain in Sir Frederick Ashton's La Fille Mal Gardée, Puck in John Neumeiers A Midsummer Night's Dream, William Forsythes In the middle somewhat elevated and Benvolio in Romeo and Juliet by Mats Ek and Sir Kenneth MacMillan. He worked with choreographers such as Nacho Duato, Mats Ek, William Forsythe, Jiří Kylián, Ohad Naharin, John Neumeier, Pontus Lidberg, Jean Christophe Maillot, Patrice Bart and Mauricio Wainrot. He is a regular guest at international festivals. Extensive touring took him all over Europe, to the USA, Japan, Canada, Argentina, Cuba and Mexico. As a training director and ballet master, he worked at the Joffrey Ballet School New York, the Abundance Dance Festival in Karlstad, Sweden, the Royal Swedish Ballet and the Pontus Lidberg Dance Company. He regularly studies works by Pontus Lidberg, including at the Greek National Opera Ballet and most recently Les Noces at the Opéra de Paris in 2019. Jens Rosén has been the ballet master at the Staatsballett Karlsruhe since the 2019/20 season.
