The 2010 Festival opens with young soloists from
the University College of Opera, Stockholm, in a bold,
brilliant and gay production of La finta giardiniera by W A Mozart.
This opera was performed in Drottningholm 20 years ago, so time has come
for a new generation to take on the opera buffa from 1774, both on stage
and in the auditorium.
We also present the masterpiece Don Giovanni, the
one opera that has been on the repertoire ever since its first performance
in 1787. Carl Johan Loa Falkman is
Don Giovanni, an elderly aristocrat in
a pre-revolutionary time.
