"It is the year 1787 and the world is on the brink of revolutionary
change. For the aged aristocrat, Don Giovanni, his immediate surroundings
appear ever more alien. The women have suddenly begun to make trouble,
his valet wants a rise in salary and the mob speaks domineeringly. We meet
Don Giovanni during the last twenty-four hours of his life, when everything
goes terribly wrong. Long live liberty! he sings, as he wields the champagne.
But the question is, liberty for whom?"
