Roberta Mameli

Acclaimed Italian soprano Roberta Mameli is internationally recognized for the luminosity and power of her voice, combined with a refined expressive artistry, particularly in the Baroque and Mozart repertoire.

She is a regular guest at some of the world’s most prestigious musical institutions, including the Wiener Konzerthaus, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, the Auditorium National de Lyon, Tokyo Opera City, the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, the Teatro Regio in Turin, the Grand Théâtre de Genève, the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, the Staatsoper Unter den Linden and the Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin, as well as the Shanghai Grand Theatre.

Throughout her career, she has collaborated with world-renowned conductors such as Jordi Savall, Diego Fasolis, Fabio Biondi, Federico Maria Sardelli, Ottavio Dantone, Ton Koopman, Leonardo García Alarcón, Francesco Corti, Enrico Onofri, Alan Curtis, Christopher Hogwood, Václav Luks, and the late Claudio Abbado.

Among her most celebrated roles is Poppea in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea, conducted by Diego Fasolis with the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, performed at the Staatsoper Berlin (2018) and Teatro Ponchielli in Cremona (2023), and subsequently toured in several Italian cities to great critical and public acclaim.

She has also performed the role of Aci in Handel’s Aci, Galatea e Polifemo at the George Enescu Festival in Bucharest, Wigmore Hall in London, and the Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin.

In the Mozart repertoire, she has excelled as Vitellia in La clemenza di Tito, in the production directed by Pierre-Emmanuel Rousseau, which toured Rennes, Angers, and Nantes. She also achieved great success as Arminda in La finta giardiniera, in the Teatro alla Scala production conducted by Diego Fasolis at the Grand Theatre of Shanghai.

She recently completed a triumphant European and American tour with her latest recording, The Ghosts of Hamlet – Lost Arias from Italian Baroque Operas (Arcana), acclaimed by international critics as Album of the Year 2025 and shortlisted as a finalist at the Opera Awards 2025.

Her upcoming engagements include the title role in Dido and Aeneas at Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Theophane in Handel’s Ottone at the Opernhaus Magdeburg, the title role in Teodora Imperatrice at Teatro Ponchielli in Cremona, Ottavia in L’incoronazione di Poppea at the Drottningholm Slottsteater in Stockholm, Arminda in La finta giardiniera in Tokyo, and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni at the National Theatre in Brno and on tour in Luxembourg, France, and Czechoslovakia.

Her discography includes numerous recordings released in recent years with prestigious labels such as Dynamic, DHM, Arcana, Sony, Glossa, Alpha, and Decca.

Her solo album Anime Amanti (Alpha) was awarded both the Diapason d’Or and the Diapason d’Or de l’Année 2017.
